Abstract
We present a case of a 53-year-old man with large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma that infiltrated the vermiform appendix. The patient underwent F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG PET/CT scan) for staging, which demonstrated intense abnormal tracer uptake in the appendix. After 2 cycles of chemotherapy (R-CHOP), a follow-up PET/CT scan demonstrated complete resolution of the abnormal tracer uptake within the appendix. This case highlights the contribution of F-18 FDG PET/CT in the diagnosis and post-therapy evaluation of this involvement.
