Abstract
Meckel scan with Tc-99m pertechnetate is commonly used for detection of Meckel diverticulum by localization within ectopic gastric mucosa. An 8-year-old boy had a 2-week history of constant right abdomen pain associated with bright red bleeding and anemia. Clinical examination revealed pallor but nothing else of note. Meckel scan was performed without any pharmacologic pretreatment, and double abnormal foci were demonstrated in the right upper and lower quadrants. The patient underwent laparoscopy, and double Meckel diverticulum was removed. The patient recovered fully after operation.
