I read with awe the “Payment Pointers” in the March, 2001 issue. I had no idea how important the Medicare Part B Surgical Dressing Policy was to our patients with wounds, especially in their discharge planning and our focus on cost effectiveness. I hope to see more about this subject and other areas of payment outside the direct realm of home care reimbursement. With all the stress on assisting the patient through various levels of care such as nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, etc., I’m learning that knowing some information about the regulations they work under helps me plan better care for my patients.
