Because of their rareness, many conditions encountered in the field of ophthalmic oncology have not been studied with statistical rigor. As a result, many clinical decisions relating to care of these patients rely on expert opinion or clinical experience, often without evidence that supports one particular option over another.1 The incorporation of appropriate evidence into these decisions will surely lead to better outcomes for patients.
