Fires During Surgery: Two Fatal Incidents in Los Angeles

Abstract

This article examines the problem of fires during surgery as caused by high energy electrosurgical units in proximity to highly combustible surgical boundary drapes. Specifically examined are two recent fires in Los Angeles.
