Excerpt

Sclerosing mesenteritis is one of a group of rare conditions characterized by chronic inflammation and fibrous connective tissue deposition in the peritoneal cavity. We report a case of sclerosing mesenteritis with involvement limited almost entirely to the omentum and adjacent soft tissue in the inguinal canals. The appearance of sclerosing omentitis has not been previously described and has imaging findings that simulate peritoneal carcinomatosis with omental caking.
