CT venography (CTV) is the rapid acquisition of high resolution, thin slice CT images of the venous phase of contrast enhancement during the bolus infusion of contrast material. With multiplanar reconstructions, CTV has the potential to accurately depict both deep and cortical venous drainage of the brain. A prior study has suggested that it is useful in both the diagnosis of venous sinus thrombosis and surgical planning (1). However, no study of this technology has been reported with both angiographic and MR venography (MRV) correlation. This report describes a case of tentorial meningioma with transverse sinus involvement in which correlation of CTV with these other modalities demonstrated the utility of CTV in surgical planning of suspected cases of dural sinus invasion by tumor.
