Excerpt

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is not only hepatotropic but also lymphotropic (1,2). Recently, the association between HCV infection and mixed cryoglobulinemia (MC) has been reported (3,4). In addition, a high prevalence of HCV infection in B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-NHL) also has been noted (5-7). However, the HCV association with NHL has not been well investigated in Japan.
We have therefore investigated a possible link between HCV infection and the development of B-cell disorders including B-NHL.
