The prevalence of lactase deficiency is well described in the African- American and Asian populations but has not been defined in Hispanic populatiojns. Our objective was to determine the prevalence of lactase deficiency in Hispanic children referred to a tertiary care center for evaluation of vague abdominal complaints.
