Having the opportunity to review the CD-ROM titled “Pocket Emergency Medicine For PDA” has been a positive educational experience. The CD-ROM is user-friendly, loads easily, and has an extensive help section that can assist with most any problem. The SkyScape Website is also available for updates and further information on installation and descriptions of the CD-ROM so the user may benefit from all aspects of the program.
The software, once transferred onto your PDA, is very simple to use and does not require extensive technological dexterity to operate. The “Pocket Emergency Medicine For PDA” is broken down into many common disease processes, medications, and even articles on procedures routinely performed in the Emergency Room. Each disease process is then further stratified into five categories: History, Findings, Critical Studies, Emergency Department, and Clinical Pearls. All five categories are easily accessible at all times with tabs on the right side of the screen.
The availability of diseases to research varies as widely as the diseases that present to the Emergency Room. In having extensively utilized this program, there were very few topics unavailable, fewer topics unlisted, and nearly all questions were answered with this program.
I highly recommend this program to anyone who works in the Emergency Room. “Pocket Emergency Medicine For PDA” has volumes of knowledge readily available at any user’s fingertips regardless of experience, level of training, knowledge of medicine, or technology.
Whether you have been working in the ER for years or it is your first week on the job, “Pocket Emergency Medicine For PDA” is an excellent reference.
