Excerpt
In the wake of the 1996 Surgeon General's Report on Physical Activity and Health, professionals in the fields of exercise, physical activity, and health promotion are searching for practical tools to encourage physical activity among individuals as well as communities. The Activity Pyramid is an innovative guide which displays the messages used to promote physical activity in an easily understood format. This interactive educational materials workshop session introduces participants to a variety of Activity Pyramid projects and programs which can be implemented in community, worksite, and clinical settings. Participants will also preview new projects such as the Kid's Activity Pyramid, which uses simple, fun messages to remind children to be more physically active. Participants will leave the workshop with new ideas for Activity Pyramid programs which can be readily implemented.
