Concussions in athletics have come to the forefront of many peoples' minds, particularly in light of the many professional athletes who have been sidelined due to this entity. There are over 300,000 sports-related concussions per year. Many clinicians feel helpless due to the lack of evidence-based information in this area. By providing the available data at the molecular level we hope to stimulate new and unique research in the area of concussion and neurotrauma.
