This report is part I of a two-part article and reports on the results of the use of one of the two study instruments, The Edwards Personal Preference Schedule. Part II will report on the data resulting from the use of a questionnaire designed to amplify the findings obtained via the EPPS. Part II will appear in the September-October issue ofNursing Research.
