A Review of Selected Conflict Literature: The Quasi-Rational Element in Conflict

Abstract

Selected literature on conflict is discussed. Approaches to identifying and reducing conflict, diverse concepts of conflict, as well as interpretation of components of conflict, are described in terms of power-welfare, competition-cooperation, cognitive-affective, means-end, rationality-irrationality, and objectivity-subjectivity.
