The Introcan Safety I.V. Catheter, from B. Braun Medical, minimizes accidental needlesticks without requiring user activation. A stainless steel clip shields the needle tip, while the passive design eliminates risk of inadvertent activation. In addition, a syringe can be preattached to the catheter to facilitate aspiration and injection during insertion.
