Correction: An Evidence-Based Approach to Secondary Cleft Lip Nasal Deformity
Excerpt
In the Maintenance of Certification article by Zbar and Canady entitled “An Evidence-Based Approach to Secondary Cleft Lip Nasal Deformity,” published in the February 2011 issue of the Journal (Plast Reconstr Surg. 2011;127:905–909), there is an error in the text. On page 906, under “Evidence of Preoperative Assessment,” first full paragraph, the first three sentences should read as follows (correction in italics): “Fisher et al. show that experts are able to subjectively rank the severity of cleft lip nasal deformity that correspond to objective criteria (Diagnosis: Level II Evidence).2 These criteria include the columellar angle and the nostril width ratio. As the cleft width and skeletal nasal base become progressively asymmetric, measurements of the columellar angle and the nostril width ratio reflect these changes.
