Abstract

The animal research dealing with experiential and environmental factors in cancer is reviewed. Despite the absence of a systematic approach to the role of psychologic factors in the pathogenesis of tumor states, it is concluded that the scientific evidence strongly supports the notion that center in animals can be influenced by experiential manipulations, and that further research afforts by psychologists are empirically justified.
