We read with interest the article “Bevacizumab compared with macular laser grid photocoagulation for cystoid macular edema in branch retinal vein occlusion” by Russo et al.1
The authors reported an improvement in the best-corrected visual acuity and central macular thickness in patients treated with intravitreal bevacizumab (IB) compared with grid laser photocoagulation (GLP). However, some of the methodological aspects of the study make the interpretation of the results difficult.
However, it was a good attempt by the authors because it was the first randomized controlled trial comparing IB and GLP for cystoid macular edema in branch retinal vein occlusion.
