The Rapid Communication by Jain et al. in the August 27, 1997, issue of Transplantation (1997; 64(4): 559) provides the first published information on the excretion of tacrolimus into breast milk. Table 1 also provides information on the growth of the infants. It would be of interest to know which, if any, of the mothers breast-fed their infants while taking tacrolimus and how extensively (i.e., exclusive, partial) and for how long they nursed their infants. Perhaps the authors can provide this information.
