I am pleased and proud to present an outstanding program for you, the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation professional, at the 1998 American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Annual Meeting. All levels of learners will find opportunities for professional and personal growth. The daily educational sessions will address basic questions as well as the most complex, debated issues in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation today. Attending this program is essential to your success as a professional working in the pulmonary and cardiovascular disciplines. (Figure)
We are all aware of the difficulties facing health care today. Guidelines for reimbursement, research, prevention, and outcome measurement are a few of the areas highlighted at this year's meeting. We will learn from the experts how to work more efficiently as we struggle to improve patient and program outcomes. We will learn how to talk to the providers, as well as enhance our communication skills with physicians and patients.
Sessions in a variety of learning formats will focus on comorbidity of disease complicating our patients. The Program Committee is offering many sessions that are labeled "cardiopulmonary" and attractive to both disciplines.
A most important part of our meeting is the social and professional networking opportunities provided. For your own health and wellness, be sure to take part in the evening entertainment by attending the Grizzly Rose to hear Country Western music; the Awards Banquet; and the Board of Directors reception. Plan to enjoy all that Denver has to offer in the way of recreation, fitness trails, and cultural entertainment.
Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation professionals are passionate people-I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you throughout the country. Mark your calendar now to share your enthusiasm and passion for what we love to do in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation settings.
