This year marks the 14th volume of Menopause. We are in constant awe of the quality of the scientific papers submitted, the dedication of our reviewers and Editorial Board, and the commitment of the editorial writers. We have learned an incredible amount from each of them. The journal's growth and its well-established position as one of the top three most cited journals in its category (ISI Citation Index Ranking) indicates that we have made great strides toward reaching our goal.
Our volume size has been growing by about 100 pages per year to accommodate the increased number of outstanding manuscripts accepted for publication. With this issue of the journal, we have made small but important changes to help support this growth. Inside, changes have been made to make reading the issue easier while freeing more space for additional content. We have eliminated redundancies, made contributor disclaimer information clear and easily accessible, and adjusted spacing. Outside, our cover now clearly displays the volume and issue numbers, along with new information required by the publisher. What is most important-because we include more content in each issue, it helps make publication of the manuscripts timelier.
Our online journal presentation within the publisher's Web site (www.menopausejournal.com) has changed dramatically and most certainly for the better. With Volume 13 (issues published during 2006), the online content (after peer review) was published only a few weeks before the print version of the journal appeared on our desks. Now we are publishing electronic final versions of accepted manuscripts, on average, 4 months before the mailing of the print publication. This significant achievement underscores our ongoing commitment to rapid and accurate dissemination of current research to the Society's members and readers. These innovations, accomplishments, and ongoing efforts are in no small part due to the shared insights and requests of our readers. The journal's editorial office, NAMS, and the publisher continually seek to enhance your experience with the journal, and we thank you for your support.
It has been our honor to work with the Editorial Board of Menopause and the Board of Trustees of The North American Menopause Society to provide a peer-reviewed, scientific journal that contains a meaningful forum for research as well as clinical guidelines for the healthcare provider.
