Locally advanced cancer of the prostate: diagnosis and management

Abstract

The diagnosis and management of locally advanced prostate cancer is evolving. This review describes new insights into clinical staging of prostate cancer using transrectal ultrasound, prostate-specific antigen, and magnetic resonance imaging. Methods of treatment, including radical surgery, brachytherapy, conformal radiation, and neutron radiation are also reviewed.
