Renal trauma: when to wait and when to operate

Abstract

The treatment of renal trauma continues to evolve witha greater emphasis placed on nonoperative management. The ablity for improved preoperative staging of renal injuries has helped redefine indications for surgery. This review focuses on recent publications that have influenced clinical guidelines for managing renal treuma.
