Excerpt

A major challenge of employee health education and health promotion is capturing employee attention to deliver messages that stimulate specific action and/or behavior change. Historically, IBM has depended on written communications delivered through check stuffers, flyers, posters and handouts to accomplish this. Advances in information technology provide new tools to add to our armamentarium. Also, the move to team computing via networks opens numerous opportunities for employee health promotion. These include electronic bulletin boards, online discussion groups, intranet web sites, and targeted electronic mailings to promote health messages. Information on these tools will be reviewed and demonstrated through a computer presentation.
