The 10 Most Commonly Asked Questions About Familial Aneurysms
Excerpt
We usually define cerebral familial aneurysms as aneurysms that occur in 2 or more members of a specific family with blood relationships. For example, if a patient and his or her brother or sister had an aneurysm, then we would define such cases as familial aneurysms. Sometimes familial aneurysms occur in patients and their parents or patients and more distant relatives such as aunts, uncles, or cousins. As long as they are blood relatives we would define this as a case of familial aneurysms. Familial aneurysms may rupture at a younger age than sporadic aneurysms. Also, familial aneurysms tend to be multiple more often than sporadic aneurysms.
