Excerpt

This book is well written, concise, current, and encompasses cases from every aspect of ENT. Each case is presented in a concise yet thorough manner including history, differential diagnosis, test interpretation, management, rehabilitation, and follow-up. The photographs and illustrations are of high quality and greatly enhance each chapter. Questions are provided to reinforce the key elements of the case and serve as useful self-evaluation tool at the end of each chapter.
As each case presentation is relatively concise, highlighting the key points of the subject matter, increasing the number of cases presented in each subspecialty in subsequent editions would allow for a more comprehensive review of ENT. Additionally, providing explanations of the answers for all questions at the end of every chapter would be useful to the reader.
This book would be best suited for otolaryngology residents and fellows as a study tool to prepare for cases that may be encountered in daily practice, reviewing for in-service examination, or written and oral board preparation. It also would be of interest to experienced physicians in otolaryngology or primary care physicians as an easily readable up-to-date refresher touching on all aspects of Otolaryngology. It also would be useful for those practicing physicians who are preparing for the recertification Otolaryngology board examination.
