Abstract

ABSTRACT

Extensor mechanism disruption after total knee arthroplasty is a rare, but catastrophic, complication. Although acute ruptures can sometimes be treated with direct repair of the torn quadriceps or patellar tendons, chronic injuries often require allograft reconstruction. The purpose of this article is to outline the technique of allograft extensor mechanism reconstruction after total knee arthroplasty.
