Orthopaedic Dictionary.Stanley Hoppenfeld, M.D., and Michael S. Zeide, M.D., with illustrations by James Capizzuto. J. B. Lippincott, Philadelphia, 1994, 436 pages, $85.00.
This orthopedic dictionary has three to four line drawings on every page. It accurately illustrates many of the more complex terms that are useful in defining, not only for orthopedic surgeons, but especially residents, students, and the orthopedic office staff. Our administrative assistants and billing department were very excited with this text. They now could readily find correct orthopedic spelling as well as have a visual guide as to different disorders, definitions, and especially anatomy, which is well illustrated. This text is also useful for the hospital medical records department and probably the radiology department, as it, again, illustrates many of our instrumentations. I compliment the authors on an extremely well-written and illustrated dictionary, which is a necessity in all orthopedic practices and hospitals.
