Excerpt

Oculocutaneous albinism is a rare disorder characterized by variable degrees of cutaneous nonpigmentation, nystagmus, photophobia, and decreased visual acuity.1 Affected patients are at risk for cutaneous malignancies including squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma. Melanoma of the skin or any tissue, however, is notably rare in this population.2 Albinoidism is a form of albinism in which the patient maintains normal or minimally reduced visual acuity and no nystagmus.1 We report an albinoid patient who developed a choroidal melanoma.
