Abstract

We presented cytological description of the neurons, glia, and synopses of the anterior amygdaloid area (AAA) of the rat brain amygdaloid complex (AC), which is one of the zones of sex polymorphism in estrus and after gonadectomy. Electron microscopic examination of neurons in estrous stage shows that most neurons are highly or moderately active. Functional activity of AAA neurons decreased after gonadectomy.
