Abstract

20 kindergartners, 20 4th, 20 8th, and 20 12th graders were presented with stories in which at least 2 motives or external events may have led an individual to perform an act. Only the adolescent Ss recognized that an individual's action may be determined by more than a single causal factor. (3 ref) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
