Abstract

Treatment of HIV-infected patients may be improved by the use of therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). TDM enables the physician to maintain plasma concentrations of antiretroviral therapies at levels sufficient to suppress antiviral activity and avoid virological failure, while avoiding drug toxicity.
