Immune stimulation appears to play a role in the pathogenesis of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). It is, therefore, biologically plausible that immunizations may be associated with subsequent GBS. In a recent review of the current body of evidence, associations between vaccines and GBS were generally found to have been only temporal, with little evidence to support a causal association with most vaccines
