Abstract

Survivors of stroke are at risk of stroke recurrence. Lifestyle changes and pharmacotherapy can be used to help control risk factors, but further studies are needed to determine whether control of risk factors significantly reduces stroke risk. Various antithrombotic medications are also used to prevent secondary stroke.
