Abstract

Safety concerns, whether real or perceived, with long-term bisphosphonate therapy in patients with osteoporosis can negatively impact patient compliance. The more common adverse events can be avoided or managed, and the risk of rarer events can be minimized with appropriate patient and/or drug selection.
