Abstract

Anaemia in cancer patients contributes to cancer-related fatigue and reduced health-related quality of life. Diagnosis of cancer-related anaemia should focus on the symptoms and severity of anaemia and on the identification of treatable causes. Therapy includes correction of causes and symptomatic treatments, including red blood cell transfusions and administration of erythropoietic agents (epoetin alfa, epoetin beta and darbepoetin alfa)
