Evidence-Based Answer

Several tools may help a clinician assess the safety of elderly drivers. These include the Assessment of Driving-Related Skills (ADReS), DriveABLE, and the Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) scale. Unfortunately, all of them have substantial limitations, making them only marginally useful in the clinical setting (SOR: B, cohort studies).
