No. As a screening tool, breast self-examination (BSE) does not reduce breast cancer-related mortality (SOR: A, systematic review of high-quality RCTs). In addition, BSE is associated with increased risk of harm, including biopsy of benign breast lesions (SOR: A, systematic review of high-quality RCTs).
