No. Intensive glycemic control is not superior to conventional glycemic control for cardioprotection in patients with type 2 diabetes when measuring allcause mortality, cardiovascular (CV) mortality, nonfatal myocardial infarction (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), arrhythmias, and reinfarction rates.
