Abstract

EVIDENCE-BASED ANSWER

The parental Vanderbilt screening test is helpful in ruling out oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and conduct disorder (CD), but less helpful for ruling out combined anxiety/depression (ANX/DEP) (SOR: A, consistent diagnostic cohort studies). Using cutoffs involving the sum of the scores for each domain may be more useful for ruling out ODD, CD, and ANX/DEP (SOR: B, diagnostic cohort study).
