Abstract

EVIDENCE-BASED ANSWERShort-term (14–20 days) use of COCs reduces bleeding days and time to cessation of bleeding in implant users; however, bleeding reoccurs quickly after cessation of COC treatment (SOR: B, small RCTs). COCs are not recommended for routine treatment of irregular bleeding (SOR: C, expert opinion).
