EVIDENCE-BASED ANSWER

Fructose consumption has no clinically significant short-term effects on high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, or body weight (SOR: C, meta-analyses of disease-oriented evidence). None of these studies evaluated long-term effects or patientoriented outcomes.
