Abstract

EVIDENCE-BASED ANSWER

Yes. Nutritional education, when accompanied with nutritional changes in school and parental education, decreases the incidence of obesity in children up to 50% and increases exercise to 12% (SOR: B, systematic review of RCTs and RCT). Results are mixed regarding the effect on intake of fast food and soda, and no change was noted in fruit intake (SOR: B, RCT, cohort trial).
