EVIDENCE-BASED ANSWER

Yes. In children with autism and sleeping problems, melatonin improves sleep onset by up to 27 minutes and sleep duration by up to 29 minutes with minimal to no adverse effects (SOR: B, meta-analysis of small RCTs and case series).
