EVIDENCE-BASED ANSWER

National HPV vaccination programs are associated with a decline in prevalence of HPV infection in teenagers, and the introduction of HPV vaccination is associated with decreases in the incidence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) in women up to age 24 (SOR: B, systematic review of cohort studies and large population-based study). Still, women who have received the HPV vaccination should continue cervical cancer screenings as per current guidelines (SOR: C, expert opinion).
