A Family-Systems Approach: Three Families with a Hypertensive Member*

Based on three case studies, this article presents an approach to stress reduction in three families with a hypertensive member. Clinical observations of family dynamics and daily blood pressure levels are presented for each family. The three cases stimulate hypotheses for future research on the relationship between psychodynamics and hypertension.
