Abstract

Hemodynamic indices were analyzed in 424 females aged 18–60 years with an insufficient, normal, or excessive body mass (BM). In females with an insufficient BM, the hemodynamic indices were indicative of a more intense myocardial function. In females with an excessive BM, a decrease in the contractile function of the myocardium was associated with an increase in peripheral vascular resistance, which might be responsible for elevated blood pressure.
