Bertha Mook is presently a retired professor from the University of Ottawa, Canada, where she was employed from 1975 to 2006. She specialized in the fields of phenomenology, hermeneutics, metabletics, and psychotherapy. She has authored two books, co-edited a third, wrote many book chapters and numerous articles. Her writings include phenomenological and hermeneutic studies on child and family psychotherapy as well as metabletic studies on childhood, the family, and neurosis. She is consulting editor for the Journal of Phenomenological Psychology, and for The Humanistic Psychologist. Since 2009, she is a cofounder and editor of a new journal, entitled Metabletica. She continues to be involved in a part-time private practice in clinical psychology.
