1University of GothenburgHelena Dahlberg is a philosopher and dancer who works at the Department for Literature, History of Ideas and Religion at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). Her dissertation from 2011 in the field of History of Ideas is titled Vikten av kropp. Fragan om kött och människa i Maurice Merleau-Pontys Le visible et l'invisible [The Weight of the Body. The Question of Flesh and Human Being in Maurice Merleau-Ponty's Le visible et l'invisible]. (Gothenburg University, 2011) and deals with the concept of flesh in Merleau-Ponty's philosophy and its relationship to French humanism in the 1940s. She has also published Reflective Lifeworld Research (together with Karin Dahlberg and Maria Nyström; Studentlitteratur, 2008). Her research concerns questions about the body and human embodiment from a phenomenological point of view, and it specifically focuses on questions about the at-once familiar and alien character of the body. She is also interested in the intersection between dance and philosophy.
