Formation and Optical Properties of CuInSe2 Nanocrystals in a Silicate Matrix

Abstract

The formation of CuInSe2 nanoparticles in silicate glasses is studied. The particles are shown to be formed from polycrystalline compounds during glass cooling and are assumed to have a cubic structure, in contrast to bulk CuInSe2. The effects of synthesis conditions, semiconductor content, and the state of the nanocrystals on the optical spectra of the glasses are analyzed.
